South African honeybush is a close relative of rooibos. It grows in high mountain regions and, unlike rooibos, cannot be cultivated, making it available only in limited quantities. In spring, at harvest time, the honeybushes turn a vibrant yellow and exude a lasting, sweet honey aroma. Harvesting is done carefully and only every three years to protect and preserve the natural habitat. Honeybush tea is a suitable caffeine-free alternative to black tea and is considered sweeter than its compatriot, rooibos tea.

Why 20 minutes of roasting time make all the difference
Industrial coffee is often “shock-roasted” at around 600 °C for just 90 seconds. The result: burnt on the outside, acidic on the inside. At Turm, we take our time. Our beans are roasted for up to 20 minutes at lower temperatures, allowing irritants and excess acidity to break down. Your stomach will thank you.

Wichtig für die volle Aromenvielfalt von Tee ist, dass die Teeblätter viel Platz zum Schwimmen haben. Keine Bewegungsfreiheit haben die Teeblätter bei flachen Teebeuteln, weshalb diese nicht empfehlenswert sind. Die pyramidenförmigen Teebeutel ermöglichen eine bessere Extraktion, da das Wasser den Tee leichter umspülen kann.
